Obviously, in your case, look for one that works on both Android and Linux.ģ.) Here are some Android sharing applications you can try, including the awesome "KDE Connect" which should work any any edition of Linux Mint.

On phones, look up apps for DLNA or UPnP and install one of those, BubbleUP, etc.Ģ.) There are numerous applications for remote control available on your phone and Linux. If you want easy instructions on this, let me know, or look at my other posts on this. I have been using this for years with my Samsung Smart Blu-Ray DVD player to view on my non-smart HDMI Samsung TV. using the very easy to install and setup "PS3 Media Server". But, I doubt you would be able to get all of its features to work under "Wine".īut, here are some other options that you might like to try.ġ.) You can stream any multi-media files (movies, videos, music, pics) from your Linux computers easily to any UPnP-DLNA device, including smart devices like phones, TV's, Blu-Ray DVD players, game consoles, TV sticks, etc. The other route (that I use myself) is I have both Windows and Mint Linux installed in the same system as a dual boot, so the rare times I need a Windows only program, I reboot and start Windows. To see if you want to go that route, search for the terms "installing windows software in Wine" and "how to install and use VirtualBox". I'm not an expert in either, but the best way is to start a new topic in the Software and Applications section asking for help installing a product in Wine or VirtualBox and there are those who have a lot of experience. There is a very good chance if you run it in "Wine" software for Linux, or in Windows running in VirtualBox installed in Linux it will work normally. I have no idea how experienced you are with Linux, so I'll give you the basics below in case you are new at this. but in general Samsung software is very Linux PC unfriendly (oddly since Android is based on Linux) and they market this as a Windows product so I don't think you will have much luck trying to use it directly in Linux.
